How To Set Up Your Bird House

If you want birds to come into your garden, take note of where to locate your birdhouse. If there are trees, the easiest way is to hang it in one of the lower branches. A hanging bird house has the advantage of being safe from predators. It is also easier for the bird to find. If there are no trees, a free standing pole made of wood or metal will serve the purpose.

Another common way of setting up a birdhouse is by attaching it to the trunk of a tree. This method results in a sturdy contraption that cannot be affected by strong wind. Seeds are also protected from being swept away by wind or rain. This set up, however, has the disadvantage of being more accessible to predators. Squirrels and other animals can easily climb the tree and help themselves to the bird food.
