cattle sorting paddles

Most kids today grow up surrounded by technology. They have the internet which could teach them everything they want to know. Several years ago, kids would actually spend hours outdoors. Kids who grew up in the country or in farms had responsibilities. My father who grew up in the country said his chores included gathering the cattle sorting paddles at the end of the day.

Cattle sorting paddles are used for herding animals. My father said he used them to herd goats and cattle. The paddles were also used to clean the barn. He moved to city when he went to college. Today he is a grandfather to three boys. All his kids and grand children grew up in the city will never know what it is like to care for animals the way he did.
