My grandmother’s house was just a few minutes from my family’s house. Her house was much bigger than our apartment. She also had a huge garden where my brother and cousins would play in every day after school. My grandmother was a former college professor and upon her retirement began to develop her green thumb. My grandmother’s garden décor always received lots of compliments each time she hosted parties.

My grandmother also was an excellent cook. She loved inviting her friends over to her house for sumptuous meals. There were always a lot of people during parties that often some would end up seated in the garden. Those who were seated in the garden enjoyed the sight of her garden decor, as well as her vast collection of plants and flowers. I was always those seated in the garden and I have nothing but the fondest memories of her and the garden I played in.
