How to Stay Cool in Summer

Now that we are enjoying summer we need all the help that we can get in keeping temperature down. What I try to do is start my garden chores really early so that I am done when the sun is just peeking out of the rooftops. It helps to create a fresh environment if you water even the leaves of the tall plants or trees. The water stays there for a while and it helps cool the surroundings. This reminds me of a tree that I was introduced to in some Asian city. The tree is big and has a wide spread. The unique thing about it is that when it rains, the leaves open up to catch rainwater and keeps it there for a while. Does anybody know the name of that tree?
Inside the house I try to be less physically active as much as possible and keep a glass of water beside me all the time. I wish there were other ways by which we can beat the heat. Outdoor garden fountains will also help but I don’t have the space for that. That would have been a big help; just listening to the sound of flowing water is enough to keep you cool. Maybe I will just settle for more cool drinks and frequent showers.
