cattle feeder

Cattle, like all farm animals, needs a balanced diet to achieve their ideal health. Putting enough grass on the cattle feeder is simply not enough. It is better to make cattle become nibblers instead of gorgers, simply because this allows them to have a better intake of energy and not to tank up and develop acidosis.
To help cattle become nibblers, it is important to remember that feeders should not be allowed to go empty. Keeping the feeders filled will encourage cattle to nibble on them whenever they want to and this can lead to better eating patterns. Letting cattle go hungry will certainly lead to the feeling of deprivation for the animal and will result to them eating inordinate amounts of food.
