organic plant fertilizer

Commercial fertilizers contain ingredients or chemical salts that may “burn” plant roots. For environment conscious farmers and gardeners, using organic plant fertilizer is the best way to nourish plants. This includes animal manure, compost, bloodmeal, and bonemeal. There is less chance of over-fertilization when you add these decomposed organic materials to plants.

They provide a slow release of nutrients as micro-organisms in the soil break the material down into an inorganic, water soluble form that plants can use. Organic plant fertilizer also improves soil structure and workability. It also greatly improves the water-holding capacity of sandy soils.
