Awareness of the damage that fossil fuels are causing on the environment has spawned the interest in wind power. Petroleum shortages forced scientists to look for other forms of power generation. This is when wind power generators came into serious consideration. The environmentalists fueled this development. Wind is free, it is clean and will not cause any form of pollution.
Much as it has many benefits, wind power generators also have disadvantages. A wind generator will depend on the natural occurrence of wind which cannot be controlled. The amount of energy produced is therefore inconsistent from day to day. You also need certain conditions for setting up a wind turbine. It should definitely be located in a high area and it will surely take up a lot of space. There are also complaints that turbines are noisy and can cause headaches in people who live nearby.
