A healthy produce needs a healthy ground. This is the reason why garden lovers invest so mucho on fertilizers. However, you don’t necessarily have to spend so much if you know how to make compost. This compost acts as a soil conditioner that adds nutrients to the soil keeping the plant as healthy as possible.
Here are the steps on how to make compost of your own:
- Choose the perfect spot – should be out of the way to avoid eye sore
- Aeration – use tumbler to keep the air away as this could break the compost down faster
- Make a pile – you can do this on the ground; add a layer of green material, then brown material then something thick like hay, straw or even cardboard
- Turn the pile every now and then and wait for 6 to 8 weeks before you see your own compost
