The time to go green is now. Learn how to save energy to help preserve the environment while cutting down on your electric bills. Here are some tips to get your started:

~Turn off lights when you leave a room. Also turn off those you don’t need such as the overhead light if you are already using a desk lamp for reading.
~Unplug electronic appliances and battery chargers when you are not using them. Even when these things are turned off, they still draw electricity or what is called vampire power.
~Replace all incandescent bulbs in your house with compact fluorescent light bulbs. CFLs will not only give you up to 75% savings on lighting costs, they also save the environment from approximately 1,300 pounds of carbon dioxide over the course of their lifetime. CFLs use only one fourth to one third electricity and last up to ten times longer.
